Description
An account director must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to devise and implement strategies to benefit both their company and their client. They have responsibility for the management of company accounts, along with the planning and direction of any marketing campaigns. They take overall charge of the client account and play an essential team-leading role, delegating projects and monitoring workflow.
Accounting Director Job Purpose: Supports organization financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations; directing staff.

Account Director Job Duties:
·         Accomplishes accounting human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
·         Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
·         Establishes accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
·         Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information; advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
·         Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
·         Minimizes inventory investment by analyzing turns; recommending inventory levels and reorder points.
·         Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
·         Accomplishes department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
·         Prepare and coordinate financial planning and budget process.
·         Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
·         Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
·         Assist in the preparation of all financial reports.
·         Preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
·         Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
·         Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal Income tax requirements with our outside tax firm.
·         Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
·         Represent the company externally to government agencies’ auditors.
·         Business lead for ERP and Finance technology transformation.
 
Role of an Account Director
·         To drive client strategy in Finance and head complete Accounts Team
·         To drive business growth through existing clients, developing a proactive action plan.
·         To work with other departments group directors and advising pertaining to accounts.
·         To produce and deliver against an agreed account plan of action.
·         Produce and monitor accurate and clear forecasting for entire Accounts department.
·         To be a leader of your team, offering direction and support, ensuring the agency have the correct level of skills to grow the accounts.
·         To continue to monitor and review the processes and skills of the team ensuring the receive the best in class service.
 
Experience and Education
Minimum 10 Years of Experience with Masters education in Accounting/Finance.
